Construction Commences at Glenfield Junction Alliance (GJA), NSW
The Glenfield Junction Alliance (GJA) is delivering the Glenfield Transport Interchange component of the South West Rail Link, which has been under construction since August 2009.Construction has commenced recently on a flyover to the north of Glenfield Station that will separate the existing flat junction of the East Hills Line and the South Line, reducing constraints to the operational capacity of the rail network.
Work to date has involved approval processes and design as well as the removal of vegetation, potholing and civil works. Piling for the abutments and structures commenced in June 2010.
The GJA team are expected to relocate to site early July 2010. A Community Information Office has been established for the South West Rail Link at 80 Railway Parade, Glenfield which is open every Monday (excluding public holidays) and by appointment at other times.
