Richmond Line Duplication, NSW - Track Removal
Ron Hampson joined the Richmond Line Duplication project in May 2010 as Track Manager.The Richmond Line Alliance (RLA) is delivering the Richmond Line Duplication project, part of the NSW Government’s Rail Clearways Program. The RLA team spent most of May planning for the execution and removal of a 220 metre plain line track to allow for the installation of future turnouts.
Works required interfacing between various civil departments, rail, planning, safety and environment teams.
Possession took place under extreme weather conditions between 24 May and 6 June, 2010. The two week possession involved the track to be ballasted, tamped, stressed, dynamic track stabilising and smooth line tamping. During the possession the MVM Rail team remained on task and delivered through adversity.
