Wongawilli Coal Siding Maintenance Contract
Project Description
Routine and Major Periodic Maintenance contract for 4.2 kms of rail siding, rail yard and load out bins, including minor signalling works.
The project includes upgrading of the existing siding and yard roads, drainage system, road level crossings, plant loading yard and road access.
Project Outcome
Project is ongoing until the end of the 5 year contract in April 2013
Construction Innovations
The Hardface technique has been adopted to utilise on crossings, wheel burns, rail ends, dipped welds and switchblades. This process extends the life cycle of the asset alleviating the need to replace subsequently providing a more cost effective maintenance system.
